Taking the Pulse of the Community

We polled Nashvillians about our future 4000 Hillsboro community development in Green Hills. Here’s what we learned.

Successful real estate projects know their audience. We know that our 4000 Hillsboro community is generating discussions in Green Hills and around Nashville, especially since two cranes just went up on site. Like with any Southern Land Company project, we want to take the pulse of the Green Hills community before, during and after construction at 4000 Hillsboro.

We value this type of ongoing dialogue with the neighborhood.

With that approach in mind, we launched a survey this past September about 4000 Hillsboro. We polled Nashvillians about the lifestyle amenities, dining options and neighborhood improvements they want in the Green Hills area. Here are a few things we learned:

  • The community is extremely engaged. About 250 people signed up to receive email updates from Southern Land Company. 167 people want to participate in focus groups that further gauge community needs.
  • Residents care about their neighborhoods. When asked what they loved most about Green Hills, 65.6 percent said, “Their neighborhood.”
  • Residents prioritize their health. Among the many choices we listed as options on the survey, the majority of participants said they wanted healthy options and outdoor dining when asked about the types of restaurants they want in Green Hills.
  • Green Hills needs traffic solutions and better transportation options. 77.8 percent of survey participants said that the area that needs to be improved the most in Green Hills is traffic. 95 percent of people who answered our transportation question said driving was their primary mode for getting around the city.

This is just a handful of the interesting data we collected through this process. If you’d like to tell us what you’d like to see in Green Hills, please voice your opinion at 4000hillsboro.com. We’d love to hear from you.
